Do you really have to say the barb currently going round your head?
Do you really have to win this argument? Have you thought about what will happen between you a minute after you humiliate her?
One of the stupid messages they put into our heads is that you have to say "your truth," and be true to yourself, whatever happens.
Why, in heaven's name, why? What's good about that?
The deeper I go into the human psyche, the more things I discover that I don't understand and don't know. And I register that the expression "my truth" conceals behind it a defence, arrogance, and above all — an unwillingness to learn and develop.
So let's finish with a variation on the advice I opened with: direct the bulk of your efforts in your romantic relationship to listening, not to speeches.
If you listen, if you become curious, there is a genuine chance you will learn something. Besides which it will raise the frequency of sex in your life.
That's it. Go and listen.
