Theo Hartley — The Human PLAYBOOK

Terms of Use

Effective date: July 12, 2026

Welcome to TheoHartley.com, published by The Human Playbook ("we," "us," "our"). By using this website, subscribing to our newsletter, or reading our content, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site — that's a clean boundary, and we respect it.

1. What this is — and what it isn't

The Human Playbook is educational content about patterns in human behavior. It is not therapy, psychotherapy, counseling, medical or psychological treatment, diagnosis, or advice tailored to your situation — and it is not a substitute for any of those. If you are in crisis or dealing with a mental-health condition, contact a licensed professional or your local emergency services. Nothing on this site creates a therapist–client, doctor–patient, or other professional relationship.

Theo Hartley is a fictional persona — an editorial voice created and operated by a human team, as openly stated on the site. References to "Theo" writing, teaching, or advising describe that editorial voice, not a real or licensed individual.

2. Using our content

All content on this site and in our newsletters — articles, frameworks, names of patterns and plays, graphics, and the wordmark — belongs to The Human Playbook or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may read, share links to, and quote brief excerpts of our free content with attribution. You may not republish, sell, scrape, train AI systems on, or create derivative products from our content without written permission. Member-only content is for the personal use of the member who accessed it and may not be shared or redistributed.

3. Your judgment, your responsibility

Our content offers general patterns and suggested moves. You know your situation; we don't. What you do with what you read — in your relationships, family, workplace, or anywhere else — is your decision and your responsibility. Outcomes depend on facts and people we know nothing about, and we make no promises about results.

4. Newsletter and member accounts

Newsletter subscription is free; you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email. When member accounts and paid products launch, additional terms (pricing, billing, cancellation, refunds) will be presented at signup and will supplement these terms. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

5. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the site: no unauthorized access attempts, no scraping at scale, no interference with the service, no use of the site to harass others or break the law, and no impersonating the publication or its team.

6. Third-party links and services

The site may link to third-party sites and uses third-party services (for example, our email platform). We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or practices. Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of them.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Human Playbook, its team, and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or emotional distress, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the site or reliance on its content. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or fifty US dollars.

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Human Playbook and its team from claims arising out of your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site or content.

9. Changes and termination

We may update these terms as the publication evolves; the current version always lives at this address, and material changes will be flagged in the newsletter. Continued use after changes means acceptance. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which The Human Playbook's operating entity is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before any formal dispute, you agree to contact us first at matan@theohartley.com and give us thirty days to work it out — naming the problem and making the move, as it were.
